Law360: Paramount Wants To Shoot Down ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ IP Suit

Paramount filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit claiming that “Top Gun: Maverick” infringed on the copyright of an article that inspired the original “Top Gun” movie. “Any similarity between these vastly different works derives from the fact that Top Gun is an actual naval training facility,” Paramount said. “Plaintiffs do not have a monopoly over works about Top Gun.” Paramount is represented by Molly M.
