Reuters: O’Melveny Swipes Five-Partner Locke Lord Team in Further Texas Expansion

O’Melveny continues to build its presence in Texas with the addition of five corporate partners. Former Locke Lord partners Whit Roberts, Jack Jacobsen, Jason Schumacher, Will Becker, and Christine Williford Metcalf all join O’Melveny’s Dallas office, which it opened in June 2021 and now has 17 attorneys. It opened its Austin office the same month. O’Melveny has long represented a number of Texas-based companies like American Airlines Inc, AT&T Inc, and Exxon Mobil Corp, according to firm chair Bradley Butwin. “Austin and Dallas were the first offices we’ve opened domestically in 20 years,” Butwin said. “We don't just plant flags all over the place.”
