O’Melveny Grows New York Corporate Practice with Media and Technology Trailblazer Matthew Syrkin

NEW YORK—September 13, 2022—O’Melveny announced today that acclaimed transactional lawyer Matthew Syrkin has joined the firm as a partner in New York. Syrkin will serve as co-chair of O’Melveny’s MediaTech Group, expanding the firm’s geographic reach and expertise in the rapidly evolving and converging worlds of media and technology across a variety of sectors, including fintech, e-commerce, entertainment, consumer retail, ad tech, gaming, and the metaverse.
Syrkin comes to O’Melveny from Hughes Hubbard & Reed, where he was the founder and global chair of the Media, Technology and Commercial Transactions Group and co-chair of the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Group.
The National Law Journal, Chambers USA, and The Legal 500 have all recognized Syrkin as one of the nation’s leading corporate lawyers for his expertise in structuring and negotiating first-of-their-kind media and technology deals.
