O’Melveny Partner Daniel Petrocelli Named a 2023 “Leading Commercial Litigator” by the Daily Journal

CENTURY CITY—January 25, 2023—O’Melveny partner Daniel Petrocelli has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2023 list of “Leading Commercial Litigators.” The special report honors attorneys who lead major litigation in California and nationally.

The Daily Journal lauded Petrocelli, who serves as O’Melveny’s vice chair and chair of the firm’s trial practice, for his work in an array of headline-making cases, including:

• defending a Chubb entity in a jury trial that concluded two decades of litigation over insurance coverage for a Brooklyn gas company's remediation of soil contamination dating back to the early turn of the previous century;
• defending singer/songwriter Kesha against a defamation action by her former record producer Dr. Luke, who she claims sexually assaulted her;
• defending rap star Travis Scott in hundreds of injury lawsuits filed in Texas related to the 2021 Astroworld Music Festival;
• representing a party in a family dispute over the estate of Peter Angelos, owner of Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles;
• representing NBCUniversal in an upcoming jury trial over profit participation in the classic TV show Columbo.

“I have a full caseload of trials and arbitrations this year that are going to keep me extremely occupied,” Petrocelli said.
