O’Melveny Again Receives Morgan Stanley Leadership and Excellence in Inclusion and Diversity Award

NEW YORK—October 28, 2022—O’Melveny has been recognized as the 2022 recipient of Morgan Stanley’s Leadership and Excellence in Inclusion and Diversity Award. This marks the second time Morgan Stanley has selected O’Melveny for this distinction, with the firm previously receiving the award in 2018.
The Leadership and Excellence in Inclusion and Diversity Award is presented to a law firm that has demonstrated a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession by expanding opportunities for underrepresented attorneys in the areas of recruitment, retention, advancement, promotion, career development, and access and exposure to partners and clients. Morgan Stanley evaluated nearly 50 firms to determine this year’s award recipient.

In honoring O’Melveny, Morgan Stanley acknowledged the firm’s achievements across a range of metrics, including an increase in the number of underrepresented attorneys working on its matters. Morgan Stanley also lauded O’Melveny for hiring and promoting diverse talent, noting that women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ attorneys make up:

- 46% of Policy Committee members
- 78% of U.S. Office Managing Partners
- 50% of Partner Admissions Committee members
- 67% of Hiring Partners
- 70% of promoted U.S. partners since 2015
- Over 30% of lateral partner hires since 2017
