Daily Journal: Late Indian Law Expert Didn’t Misrepresent Himself, Judge Rules

October 3, 2022

US District Judge Robert S. Huie granted summary judgment to the Quechan Tribe on breach of implied covenant allegations brought by Williams & Cochrane LLP and to Rosette LLP on a false advertising claim. “[The] ruling wholly and completely vindicates Robert A. Rosette, a titan in the field of federal Indian law,” attorney Matthew W. Close said. “We are thrilled that the court put an end to this inappropriate, years-long campaign that attempted to tarnish Mr. Rosette’s and his law firm’s good name. Mr. Rosette’s transformational legacy and great history speaks for itself.” Rosette is represented by Close, Brittany A. Rogers, and Kate M. Ikehara of O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
