O’Melveny Partners Molly Lens and Amy Siegel Named to The Hollywood Reporter’s 2023 “Power Lawyers” List

Amy Siegel, co-head of O’Melveny’s Entertainment, Sports and Media Group, was honored as a “Power Lawyer” for the fourth consecutive year. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Siegel “made waves” when she advised Korean entertainment company CJ ENM on its acquisition of an 80% stake of Endeavor Content for US$850 million. Siegel also represented Disney and Marvel Studios in a 20-year licensing deal with Stan Lee Universe, counseled FuboTV in a multi-year first-look deal with Ryan Reynolds’ production company Maximum Effort Productions, and advised Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment on its release of Batman-based NFT collections. She told the publication that the key to success in Hollywood is to “cherish good relationships with good people.”

The Hollywood Reporter’s profile of Molly Lens, co-head of O'Melveny's Entertainment, Sports, and Media Group, highlighted her work “on the front lines of high-profile copyright termination disputes.” Lens is currently defending Paramount Pictures in a copyright lawsuit over the billion-dollar Oscar-nominated blockbuster film Top Gun: Maverick and is representing Marvel in a series of lawsuits against writers and artists seeking copyright termination rights for several iconic characters. “Litigation in this space is complicated and will have implications far beyond those [termination] notices, as the case law is really developing,” said Lens.
