O’Melveny Recognized at The Law Society of Hong Kong’s 2022 Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Program

HONG KONG—January 20, 2023—O’Melveny received the Silver Award by The Law Society of Hong Kong as part of its 2022 Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Program. The award recognizes “local or foreign law firms with outstanding contribution in the provision of pro bono services” from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
Additionally, O’Melveny’s senior dispute resolution counsel Kieran Humphrey received the Gold Award, which honors “members… who have performed pro bono and community work of not less than 100 hours.” Humphrey was also recognized with the Improvement Award for his “advancement in the provision of pro bono and community services.”
The Law Society of Hong Kong is the self-regulatory body and professional association for lawyers in Hong Kong. It is entrusted with the statutory duty to monitor the conduct of law firms and lawyers to maintain the highest standards. O’Melveny competition partner, Philip Monaghan—who oversees the firm’s pro bono work in Hong Kong, commented that “This recognition is a great honor for the lawyers in our Hong Kong office and testifies to the importance we attach, as a firm, to assisting the underrepresented members of society.”
